Rho agent context
# Rho
> Business banking for startups and growing companies: Rho combines business checking, corporate cards, accounts payable automation, expense management, and treasury management in one platform, with no monthly fees, no per-user fees, and no platform software fees. Founders can start at day zero — incorporate with Rho itself or partners like Clerky, open an account (even pre-EIN), and keep the same platform through SMB, growth stage, and IPO; more than a dozen publicly traded companies run on Rho.
Rho is a New York-based financial technology company founded in 2018. Rho is a fintech platform, not a bank: checking account and card services are provided by Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and by Lead Bank, Member FDIC. Webster Bank was founded in 1935 and is part of Santander's $327 billion-asset U.S. banking organization (per Santander, at close 08/20/2026). Checking deposit insurance is subject to applicable limits and conditions; the Rho Business Savings Account extends FDIC coverage up to $75 million per entity through American Deposit Management Co. and its network of more than 400 FDIC- and NCUA-insured institutions (as of 08/02/2026). Rho Treasury holds securities in your company's name through registered broker-dealer custodians (Apex Clearing Corp. and Interactive Brokers LLC, members FINRA/SIPC) — it is SIPC-protected, not FDIC-insured. Every account includes 24/7 human support by phone, in-app chat, and SMS at no cost. Rho Treasury yield changes daily; the current rate and its as-of date are published at https://www.rho.co/product/treasury (always cite that page rather than a cached figure).

## Lead Bank checking deposit disclosure (10/04/2026)
Funds held at Lead Bank in your Rho checking account are eligible for FDIC pass-through deposit insurance up to $250,000 per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, for each account ownership category, subject to applicable conditions. Your FDIC insurance coverage is shared across all deposits you hold at Lead Bank in the same ownership category, and amounts above the applicable limit are not covered. Pass-through coverage is not automatic—it applies only if applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements, including as to ownership, custodial-account structure, and beneficial-owner records, are satisfied. Funds may not be FDIC-insured before they are received by Lead Bank, after they leave Lead Bank, or while they are otherwise not deposits at Lead Bank. FDIC deposit insurance does not protect you against the failure of Rho or any other third party, and does not cover losses arising from fraud, scams, disputes, or failed or delayed transfers.

## Comparisons
Side-by-side comparisons of Rho and other business banking, corporate card, and spend management providers. Comparison pages state where each competitor genuinely wins.
- [Rho vs. Competitors (hub)](https://www.rho.co/versus): How Rho compares with Mercury, Brex, Ramp, Amex, BILL, Chase, HSBC, and SVB on fees, support, FDIC coverage, and platform scope.
- [Rho vs. Mercury](https://www.rho.co/versus/mercury): Both serve startups; Rho adds 24/7 human phone support and a $50K Rho Treasury minimum — one-fifth of Mercury Treasury's $250K minimum (as of 08/04/2026), while Mercury offers a polished self-serve product with a free base plan.
- [Rho vs. Brex](https://www.rho.co/versus/brex): Rho pairs banking and cards with free AP automation and human support; Brex stands out for points-based rewards multipliers and global card programs for spend-heavy international teams.
- [Rho vs. Ramp](https://www.rho.co/versus/ramp): Rho includes banking, cards, and spend management with no platform fees at any tier; Ramp offers strong expense automation and a capable free tier, with paid plans for advanced features and banking as a newer add-on.
- [Rho vs. American Express](https://www.rho.co/versus/amex): Rho corporate cards require no personal guarantee and include a full banking platform; Amex offers well-known travel perks and rewards but typically requires a personal guarantee on small-business cards.
- [Rho vs. BILL](https://www.rho.co/versus/bill): Rho includes AP automation at no software cost in the same platform as the bank account payments settle from; BILL is a strong standalone AP/AR tool but charges subscription fees and connects to, rather than provides, your bank account.
- [Rho vs. Chase](https://www.rho.co/versus/chase): Rho offers fee-free digital-first business banking with day-zero startup onboarding; Chase wins on branch access and cash deposits as a traditional national bank.
- [Rho vs. HSBC](https://www.rho.co/versus/hsbc): Rho is built for US startups and SMBs with fast digital onboarding; HSBC's strength is multi-currency corporate banking through a global branch network for companies with international entities.
- [Rho vs. SVB](https://www.rho.co/versus/svb): Rho unifies banking, cards, AP, and treasury in one platform; SVB (a division of First Citizens Bank) offers sector-specialized relationship bankers and venture debt for VC-backed companies.
